Michael Rappaport

Michael is an attorney by profession but soon into his career could not keep his entrepreneurial spirit in check and left the practice of law to pursue business opportunities. Together with his two brothers he built a multi-million dollar apparel business with offices and facilities in New York, New Jersey, and El Salavador where they employed over 700 workers. In the aftermath of 9/11 the business climate changed drastically for the apparel industry and Michael decided to pursue his real passion which was in the hospitality industry -- specifically the food industry. Michael took over a fledgling wholesale gourmet cookie company and from that opened several bakery cafes. After several years Michael sold those cafes to a larger company and began concentrating mostly as a consultant within the retail food industry helping turn around struggling restaurants and cafes. In addition to helping others with their food establishments, Michael owned several of his own upscale restaurants and catering companies.

Having been involved as a small business owner/consultant for over 25 years, Michael is uniquely qualified to understand the overall needs -- and specifically the cash needs -- of small businesses in general. Both his legal and business backgrounds combine to be a source of great knowledge and an empathetic ear for the world of the small business owners -- the true engine that keeps this country's economy churning.

In his spare time Michael loves to listen to Jazz music, ice skate, and bake and of course watch his beloved N.Y. Yankees. He is married to his elementary school sweetheart and has five boys and loves his Boxer Winston.
